Do you remember:
- “There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile.”
- The Geico Gecko
- “Coke Adds Life,” and “Things Go Better With Coke.”
- Got Milk?
- Have It Your Way!
- “Two All-Beef Patties, Special Sauce, Lettuce, Cheese, Pickles, Onions on a Sesame Seed Bun.”
There’s something about commercials that seems to trigger part of the human mind. The part of the brain that remembers things for ever and ever and ever and ever and…ever.
What is it about them? How does a simple, stupid slogan get lodged in the brain for so very long?
I’m going to be swimming around in advertising, commercials, etcetera for the next week. Hope this is a luxury ride, with a feeling of pride that you get inside. Hopefully it will be the best of times, and not the worst of times (I know, the Tale of Two Cities was not advertising. But there’s something about that too that gets stuck in one’s head as well…related? Maybe.) And a week that you’ll remember for ever and ever and ever and ever and…ever.
